John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado who was a specialist in folk pop music inspired millions of people. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in love with Colorado and then settled in Aspen. Denver's famous anthems about Colorado have inspired many people to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there is another performer that embodies Colorado as John Denver." Denver was the first Hall of Fame ever inductee. Denver is the symbol of Colorado for a lot of people all over the world. People you meet in other nations, for instance New Zealanders and tell them "I am Colorado" and they say "I am from Colorado" and they instantly respond with "Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 hits following a performance with a smaller folk groups. The song was written and recorded by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver was introduced to an earlier version it was clear that the track could become an instant hit. Just a few days after singing to an enthusiastic crowd in Washington D.C., the singer recorded this song.
